Connecticut Chapter 148 NAWCC

Meetings Past

Meeting Highlights - November 21, 1998

Over 125 members of the CT chapter and their guests met at The Edmund Town Hall in Newtown, CT on Saturday, November 21. It was the first meeting held with Jim Katzin as chapter president, and so far the transition seems to be going smoothly enough. Thanks were given to outgoing president John Salva and his family as well as to Anne Townsend and Ethel Weber for serving as food hostesses over the years. 1999 promises to be an exciting one for chapter 148; speakers are being contacted, and projects are getting organized. We hope to have much to report here in the future.

SPEAKERS

Dana

Thank you Dana for a wonderfully knowledgeable talk at the November 16 meeting on "SALEM BRIDGE CLOCKS". We hope that you will consider doing another presentation in 1997.

picture Tom O'Leary

Tom O’Leary a long time and active member of Chapter 148 was our guest speaker on July 20. Tom shared some of his expertise during his presentation: Chesire Watches and Swiss Fakes. One point made by Tom for beginners the important thing about collecting is to start with one or possibly two types of clocks or watches until you become comfortable and familiar with the particular clock/watch you are collecting.

Thank you Tom for those wise words and a very interesting talk.
