PLEASE NOTE - If you plan to sell, bring a plastic tarp, blanket, or table to display your items. If you are tailgate selling, park in front of the main building. As needed, the tailgate mart may overflow onto the adjacent gym hall parking lot. So, bring a sun umbrella, if you have one, and sunscreen. For all others, definitely park in this large gym hall parking lot.

Because the barbeque is catered by the Academy, we are asking for the registration to be mailed in as we normally do for meetings. The registration cutoff date for the picnic is Friday, August 20th. Spouse and guests are $20 each.

Time for the Chapter 8 picnic and held once again in the bucolic surroundings of Wilbraham & Monson Academy in beautiful western Massachusetts. There will be an active tailgate mart in the parking lot, and good food for lunch. If you have unwanted clocks, watches, or parts, this is an excellent event at which to sell them, particularly because the picnic is FREE this year!

All that is required of you is to be a paid-up Chapter 8 member, AND pre-register. If you are not a Chapter 8 member, a spouse or guest, the picnic pre-registration cost is $20 per person. If you don’t pre-register, your cost is $5. If you don’t pre-register and bring a spouse or guest, then the usual cost of $25 for each of those persons will apply.

There will be no formal presentations, but we will again have a show and tell session. NOVELTY CLOCKS will be our theme for this year's picnic meeting. If you have a special clock, bring it along and tell us what makes it of interest. All clocks will be displayed prior to the show and tell session.

The planned program is as follows:

9:00. Tailgate Mart (indoors in case of rain).

10:45. Show & Tell - unusual or special railroad watches. If you have such a piece, just bring it along for a short presentation. Make it informal, brief and fun.

11:45. Horological door prizes.

12:15. Barbeque Picnic Lunch.

After the picnic, clock tower tour. Jeff Wood will conduct tours for those interested. A sign-up sheet will be available at the check-in table. Wear rubber-soled shoes.

SILENT AUCTION: the silent auction will not be held for the picnic.
